The Founder

Grace Yong is a pioneering leader in early childhood character education with over a decade of impact in Singapore and the region. She holds a Master in Education from James Cook University and is the first early childhood educator in Singapore to be certified as a Character Education Practitioner by the Abraham Lincoln Center for Character Development (USA). Grace was also the first to adapt and implement Prof. Thomas Lickona’s “Components of Good Character” framework in Singapore preschools, setting new benchmarks in holistic education.

An innovator in curriculum design, Grace is a licensed Buzan Mind Mapping™ instructor and the creator of Asia’s first and only mind-mapping programme for preschoolers, launched at Character Montessori. This programme, integrated with other thinking-skills modules, equips children with powerful cognitive and learning tools from an early age.

She is also a certified administrator of the Multiple Intelligences Developmental Assessment Scales (MIDAS) for nearly 20 years, enabling her to design teaching strategies tailored to individual learning strengths. Additionally, she is a certified practitioner in Philosophy for Children (P4C), trained by Dr. Phil Cam (PhD, Oxford University), reinforcing her ability to cultivate critical, ethical, and reflective thinking in young learners.

Grace’s conviction is that character forms the foundation of strong communities. As a mother of four sons (ages 17–26), she brings both personal and professional insights into shaping a new generation of ethical, capable, and resilient citizens. Through her schools and community initiatives, she continues to champion character-based education as a cornerstone of lifelong success.
